Steel pipes and Galvanized Pipes
Steel pipe
SSAW , LSAW and Structural Steel Pipe, is a welded steel tube with an internal weld seam that is measured in nominal size or Welded Round Tube. A500 Steel Pipe is a economical structural grade pipe with a smooth bare finish that has slightly higher mechanical properties than standard pipe. ASTM A53 Steel Pipe is a tested pipe that can be used for structural or pressure applications and may have a black coated finish.
Specifications: ASTM A500 Grade B; ASTM A53 Gr B, Type E,
Applications: frames, roll cages, truck racks, trailers, railings, etc.
Mechanical Properties: A500 - Tensile = 58,000, Yield = 46,000+/-
A53 - Tensile = 60,000, Yield = 30,000+/-
Available Stock Length: 6ft, 8ft, 10ft, 24ft or Cut to Size
A513 DOM Round Steel Tube, is a welded mechanical round steel tube with the internal weld seam removed creating a smooth internal surface. DOM Round Steel Tube has been drawn over a mandrel to produce a tube having more exact dimensional accuracy and tolerances, and a very smooth inside and outside finish. DOM Round Steel Tube is ideal for more stressful applications requiring higher quality, increased mechanical properties, uniformity, strength, and soundness.
Applications: race car frames, roll cages, rollers, shafts, engine mounts, bushings, cylinders, telescoping, etc.
Galvanized Pipe
Galvanized Steel Pipe Galvanized Steel Pipe
Galvanized Steel Pipe, is stocked in A53 or ASTM A106 Pipe through 2" 120" diameters. All pipes have been hot dipped in a zinc rich galvanizing process. Galvanized pipes can achieve rust free protection for up to 30 years, while maintaining comparable strength with a durable surface coating.
Galvanized pipes can be cut, machined or welded by common methods used for regular steel, but adequate ventilation should be used to avoid inhalation of fumes when heated. Saw cut ends should be treated with a cold galvanizing compound to maintain protection once your project is complete.
Specifications - ASTM A53, A500B, G90 Galvanized coating.
Surface Finish - slightly shiny silver color, grainy and spackled surface
Mechanical Properties - Yield = 30-46,000, Tensile = 58-60,000
