Australia launches anti-dumping duty exemption investigation on hollow section steel
On January 29, the Australian Ministry of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources announced that the Australian Anti-dumping Committee has launched an anti-dumping duty exemption investigation on some hollow steel imported from South Korea, Malaysia and other countries and regions.
It is reported that the investigation was initiated in response to the application of local Australian company Schiavello Manufacturing Pty Ltd. The Company requested an exemption from the anti-dumping measures imposed on products with HS codes 7306.30.0031 and 7306.30.0034.
Australia's anti-dumping measures have undergone several reviews and exemptions from investigations. In July 2022, Australia announced tariffs of 1% to 30.4% and 20.8% on goods from South Korea, Malaysia and other countries and regions. In December 2022, Australia also launched an exemption investigation for products with HS codes 7306.30.0031 and 7306.69.0010. However, the Australian authorities made a negative ruling in 2023.
